What does skintective do?
It learns how your skin tends to do when certain ingredients are in your routine, using only your own products and daily check-ins.
How does it work?
Add your products by scanning the label. Check in once a day: good, okay or not great. The app compares what you used with how your skin was, and shows the patterns.
When will I see results?
Patterns build with your history. The more consistently you check in, the sooner they appear. Until there's enough evidence, the app tells you so instead of guessing.
Is my data private?
Yes. Your products, check-ins, scores and selfies stay on your iPhone and are never sent to a server. Your iPhone's own backup (such as iCloud Backup) can include your journal, but not your selfies. Settings → Delete all data removes everything. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Do I need an account?
No. There are no accounts: everything works on your iPhone without signing in.
Will it tell me an ingredient is bad?
No. There are no universal ratings. It shows what happened in your history while an ingredient was present: patterns, not causes. It never tells you to stop using something.
What if two ingredients are always used together?
It says so. When ingredients can't be told apart, they're shown together, sometimes with an optional idea for telling them apart.
Is this medical advice?
No. skintective is a personal tracking tool, not a diagnosis or allergy test. For significant, persistent or worsening reactions, please see a professional.
Which devices does it work on?
iPhone, running iOS 17.4 or later.
How do I delete my data?
Go to Settings, then Delete all data. It removes every record and selfie, and the account's copy if you have one.
